Can't Gym? Check out These 10 Fitness Facilities Instead

It’s safe to work under the assumption that 90 per cent of us have fitness as a resolution this year, and while we’ve done the treadmills, lay down on the yoga mats and waited in endless lines at the gym, we at LBB decided to ditch the gym memberships and switch it up.

After having exhausted our motivation to go to the gym, we thought we’d share some these awesome facilities with you.

Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp, Siri Fort Sports Complex

Hands down one of the best training/sport facilities in the city, Siri fort plays venue to Krish Fitness Academy, which holds marathon training sessions, sports conditioning, bootcamp, and metabolic conditioning. It’s highly effective, super dynamic, and an interesting switch-up to the gym.

When: Thursday and Sunday

Personal Training At Sumaya

Although it has the look and feel of a gym, this is anything but. After you sign up, you’re entitled to 12 personal training sessions a month. As for the rest of the days, we guarantee your trainer will fill them up with intense cardio, right after monthly evaluations that involve measurements and the bane of our existence – a weight check. They also offer yoga, cross training and pilates classes.

CrossFit Himalaya

CrossFit classes are super intense and comprise of choreographed sets and repetitions known as Workout of the Day. Think five of you in the same class, all doing the exact same work out, repetitions and number of sets (with varying levels of difficulty), all within a prescribed amount of time. So 10 burpees in two minutes? Just a casual day in a CrossFit class.

For the competitive ones – there’s nowhere else you would rather be.

Reebok Crossfit Robust

Reebok Crossfit in Gurgaon follows the same CrossFit format – timer, workout of the day, and a lot of strength training. The great part about this particular facility is how they ease you in: If you’re new and intimidated, they’ll put you in a foundation class, give you a chance to learn the ropes, and only then graduate you to the regular WODs. PS- that first trial class is totally free.

You can sign up for six or three classes a week; the instructor will be able to advise you after an initial fitness assessment.

Crosstrain Fight Club

Crosstrain Fightclub has a fully equipped studio in South Delhi for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). What's more? Boxing, Kick Boxing, Jiu Jitsu and wrestling. Their two hour long sessions are eligible for beginners, amateurs and pros and with the warm up and cool down before and after the session, your muscles are sure to feel that stretch. 

Fitnesolution

Although their focus is more on private classes and one-on-one sessions, they host regular boot camps in their studio comprising military drills. Think a lot of planks, legs, dull walks, camel walks, and horse gallops. Sounds infinitely better than 10 minutes on the treadmill at 6.5.

Best news yet, she’ll time your classes as per your requirements. Each class can hold up to 20 people, in case you’d like to get your friends and family involved. They also offer yoga, Pilates and much more. Do keep in mind, this is one of the pricier options on the list.

When this Bollywood certified fitness expert's studios made their way to Delhi, we couldn't have been more excited to get fit. She offers both group classes and individual classes of intense pilates sessions. The trainers customise your workout on the basis of your day-to-day mood or energy levels and also provide a customised food (not diet) plan for you to achieve your goals.

Price: INR 10,000 a month for group classes

The Yoga Studio

Everyone says yoga is easy but not when you do it like this. At The Yoga Studio, they help you tone up your muscles and focus on your breath so you feel stretched out and worked out! Their 75-minute long classes promise to not just have an effect on your body but your mind as well. Trust us, this place is going to make you sweat! 

Price: INR 2,500 for 4 classes

Delhi Rock

It doesn't get more alternative than this workout. Delhi Rock offers rock climbing which is an intense sport that tests your strength and mental control as you try to make your way to the top without falling (don't worry, you'll be strapped in.) For total newbies, they have a 4-class Climbing 101 seminar you'll have to attend.

Price: INR 600 for one class

Parkour & Dance At Delhi Dance Academy

Parkour is basically the art of getting from Point A to Point B while looking seriously cool. Okay, so, not exactly in those words but Parkour helps you move across a defined area in the fastest and most effective way without taking help from any sort of equipment. This challenges your speed, strength, flexibility, stamina, all at once and challenges it HARD. They also have dance classes from Bollywood Jazz to Salsa to Belly Dance to help you shake off calories.
