Goodbye CP Traffic: Delhi's Commercial Hub Goes Car-Free This February

Himanshu posted on 06 January

Connaught Place has been buzzing quite a bit these past few months, with a bunch of {new and old} restaurants and cafes setting up shop there, though the hectic traffic still plays spoilsport in most of our CP plans. Thankfully, it’s now set to go car-free from February {in inner and middle circles}, paving the way for the CP revival we’ve been waiting for all this while.

Yup, the Delhi government has decided to make CP a pedestrian-only zone starting next month. The rule will be implemented on a temporary basis for three months and data collected on how the shopkeepers and visitors respond to it, and, accordingly, made permanent or scrapped.

We don’t know about you, but most of our CP memories consist, in some part, of hopelessly staring at the sea of bright-red tail lights that are the CP traffic. Thankfully, we won’t have to anymore. They’re even planing to offer a battery-operated vehicle service for the professionals working there.
