What Makes It Awesome

The Great Himalayan National Park {GHNP} is one of India's latest UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. While the park is full of exotic flora and fauna as expected, the people who live in the park also deserve attention due to their symbiotic relationship with nature, unique culture, mythology, and traditions. Weekend Travellers from Delhi often end up in the outer regions of Tirthan Valley, which is a part of the GHNP ecozone. However, they don't realize that there is much more to see out there beyond that. The Sainj Valley, that lies parallel to Tirthan, is less commercialized and more enticing, in case you know what to look for.

This area is also a trekker's paradise with many short as well as long treks. Another popular and scenic area covering Jibhi and Jalori Pass is also not far from here and can be covered in the same trip. I have made an effort to explain the offerings of the park in this guide. Have a look at my blog link here once - { http://travellingslacker.com/2017/06/the-great-himalayan-national-park-jalori-pass-budget-travel-guide/?utm_source=LBB&ref=lbbpost } if you're planning to go there anytime soon.

The turquoise rivers, green high altitude meadows, delightful treks, unique local customs at The Great Himalayan National Park was what I liked here.

What Could Be Better?
