Oh no, they didn't just! We recently heard about how one little company saved the day by bringing one thirsty customer their favourite cup of coffee from Starbucks. Just when we thought laziness would be the only thing stopping us from feeding our caffeine habit, here comes Grofers that literally goes the last mile for us.
Grofers, as it turns out, is not such a little business. Operating in three cities already, Delhi/NCR is lucky to be one among those getting some delivery lovin'. Or loving delivered. Depends on what you order really.
The mobile app allows you to place your order from your local store. Their merry messengers take on the task of picking up and having your order delivered to you within a neat 90 minutes.
Available on both iOS and Android, Grofers makes it easy to get fruits and vegetables, groceries, bakery items, pet products and fresh flowers delivered. Their repertoire of stores will soon increase to include items needed last minute when you're usually strapped to your desk, such as mobile chargers and pharmacy items.
The best part? This service is free! As long as your order is above INR 250, that is. For anything under that amount, there is a delivery charge of INR 49 for up to 4 kms. Grofers earns its keep by getting a percentage of the sale from the retailer; stores are happy to outsource the system of delivery boys and bikes while still making sure they make a sale to those customers that have settled in too comfortably into their couch.
We're waiting for more stores to be added to the directory. For now, we'll take that Grande Hazelnut Latte with skimmed milk and an extra shot of espresso, please.
