Here’s How Dilliwalas Can Help with Relief for the Chennai Floods

We are heartbroken about the Chennai flood disaster, and we’re sure you are too. Here’s where you can pitch in with non-perishable products and of course, money.

Ketto

A crowdfunding platform, Ketto has multifarious programmes that will help in the eventual relief for the disaster-hit areas of Chennai. For instance, you can buy Pukaar artwork here and all the proceeds will go to the flood victims. You can find more information here. 

Goonj

goonj1For Delhi residents, Goonj has always come forward in times of need, and now they're helping people in Chennai. They need tarpaulin and ropes, quality blankets, solar lights, mosquito repellent and nets, dry rations {rice, pulses, spices, milk powder, sugar, tea leaves}, bed sheets and curtains, utensils, pressure cookers, toiletries and sanitary pads, buckets and mugs, water purifier tablets, good quality torches, batteries and powerbanks, umbrellas and raincoats, candles and match boxes, crutches, slippers, backpacks, school material, sarees, jeans/trousers, dhotis, children clothing and new undergarments. Bhumi

An app called Lookup has collaborated with the volunteer organisation Bhumi to deliver donations of food, clothes, medicines and sanitary products, door to door. You can also give specific instructions through the app. Get the app here. 

Friendicoes

friendicoesOur beloved Friendicoes has gotten together with Wildlife SOS to help animal victims in Chennai. Jivesh Goenka is raising funds to give our furry friends medical treatment, food and basic amenities. Please donate here, if you want to make the process a little easier.

World Vision India

World Vision India is doing hands-on relief work, and the National Disaster Task Force is on alert for immediate response. They have been distributing dry rations, non-food items and dignity kits to people and have reached over 12,000 beneficiaries through various interventions. 10,000 food packets, 22,000 water bottles and 500 biscuit packets have been distributed so far.
