H&M’s new Conscious Exclusive collection is a delightful dichotomy – beautiful, flowy, floor-length dresses that are made from plastic shoreline waste – if you’re joining the slow fashion movement.

Bionic, What?

Recycled polyester, made from plastic waste that collects at shorelines, is called Bionic and is the thread of sustainability that runs through H&M’s new Conscious collection. Don’t let the choice of material question the feel of the clothes though. This new, better-for-the-Earth fabric falls in perfect pleats, ruffles and folds and is great for long gowns and dresses that move with your body.

Straight Out Of A Fairytale

The pièce de résistance of this new collection is a gorgeous, plissé pleat gown in powder pink. The soft silhouette of this gown is super versatile – turn up the edginess and pair it with your Originals for a sunny Sunday brunch or don those barely-there strappy sandles and paint the town peach.

This collection is all-dresses-everything and our favourite is this glam, ankle-skimming dress that looks like it’s made from tulle fabric. There’s a more day-time appropriate, knee-length piece that’s tailor-made for these longer, warmer days.

So, We’re Saying…

This collection drops worldwide on Apr 20 and will be available at the H&M outlet in Select Citywalk; we’re totally gunning for this slower, but still striking, approach to high-street fashion.
