Last year, we put together a list of ideas for ‘Diwali gifts for our food loving friends’. This year, the list is BACK as Delhi continues to evolve and create. Whether you want to go all out, make a statement or do something special for those who usually get left out from Diwali food festivities {the gluten intolerant} here’s some thoughts to get you packing and wrapping…

MINIMIMI

Simran Khatra a.k.a. MINIMIMI is small in stature, but not in spunk!

Simran noticed a great deficit in delicious and pocket-friendly eatables for those allergic to gluten {herself included} and decided to create an array of divine and affordable gluten-free munchies.

Be it spiced nuts, gluten-free brownies, pancake mix, cakes {which are also available in cupcake form} MINIMIMI offers a great variety of gluten-free goodies made from scratch!

Cakes include rustic comforting and wintery flavours like apple, pumpkin & walnut, carrot, pineapple upside down amongst others! They are priced at Rs. 700 per kg, and the brownies at Rs. 70 per piece. Totally worth it for those who usually suffer during the festivities!

A nice gift box with about 12 assorted dates would be Rs. 2000+

MISSISIPPY

The newest brightest ‘natural, ready to eat, healthy snacks’ on the scene come from the house of Missisippy.

So far, their packs have been sighted at Modern Bazaar & Godrej Natures Basket in Delhi but the promising textures and flavours are most definitely going to take them far. Their product offering includes muesli in Apple Cinnamon, Coffee Hazelnut & Berry Burst flavours, cookies in Flax & Honey, Figs & Cashew, Ginger & Lemon duets and Savoury Snacks in Mint, Pepper & Tomato flavours.

ANANDINI HIMALAYA TEA

Anandini Himalaya Tea takes the cake for making the most exquisite blends of tea you'll have!

Tea sommelier Anamika Singh, who's been in the industry for 18 years, has created super innovative infusions using flowers and herbs from the Himalayas, and packed it into seven blends of green tea and black tea. For starters, her sheer love for tea is infectious- you can walk into her store in Shahpur Jat, or drop her an email, and she's always happy to address any tea queries. We highly recommend the pine wood smoked tea- this is ideal for winter.

DIWALI REBELLION

If you are feeling rebellious and really want to make a statement, head to dilli-haat and collect the most common and most exotic churan and aam papad, that Delhi has to offer. Not only will it be entirely different from what your loved ones expect, it’ll also be exactly what they need post an indulgent festive season.
