Hollywood Kitchen: Gurgaon's Newest Food Truck

The latest addition to Gurgaon’s growing contingent of food trucks, Hollywood Kitchen employs simple flavours with a healthy attitude, making for a good post-work out snack.

When you stand beside the food truck waiting for your order, watching cars full of tentative, would-be eaters peer out their windows, you notice that some vehicles slowed down for a fraction of a second to check out the menu on display. Some stay and park, the rest drive on. Perhaps indicative of Hollywood Kitchen so far- hit and miss.

The truck styles itself as a health conscious, carb-wary kitchen. So what does that mean? No cheese, no unnecessary condiments, everything cooked only lightly in olive oil and only wheat bread. A burger without cheese doesn’t sound very appealing, but they also have wraps, sandwiches and grilled main course dishes. We asked for a smoothie, but to our disappointment they weren’t available yet.

The veggie Hollywood Wrap is promising, with tangy veggies in a sauce that balances the thick roti-like wheat wrap. The grilled chicken steak, while tasty, comes with only a small accompaniment of crisp veggies making it feel like it is only half a dish. The star of this Hollywood show though, is the Vegetarian Stroganoff. The most filling of the dishes {thanks to the creamy sauce and rice} it effortlessly became our favourite on the menu. Creamy without being cheesy, it is the one dish that truly fulfils Hollywood Kitchen’s goal of being tasty and healthy.

With the portions being on the smaller side, we recommend you order more than one dish each and share with your friends.
