Ten Second Takeaway

Properly posh and just a wee bit intimidating, Indian Accent is fancy fusion fare by master chef Manish Mehrotra; the menu impresses from the first page to the last and each dish looks as pretty as a picture.

Must Eat

The best way to work yourself through the intriguing menu is to ask for the chef’s tasting menu, which will dazzle you with bite-sized portions of an array of eats, and end with a flourish on a wickedly sweet note.

Special shout-outs from this decadent food fest for the Khurchan Duck Cornetto, which takes pate to a whole new level, the tempered potato with butter popcorn upma {doesn’t this sound like something you would like to end your day with?}, the blue cheese mini naan, and the Wild Mushroom Kulcha served with a drizzle of truffle oil {there’s a bacon version of this too}.

In the meetha, the daulat ki chaat is our absolute favourite dessert in winter – it’s delicate and wispy, almost like a misty morning in the hills. Come summer, however, and it is the Mishti Doi Cannoli we seek. The dessert platter also includes amaranth laddoo and doda barfi.

Must Drink

Fine food calls for wine, and your multiple course tasting menu can be paired with six half glasses of wine, with specific recommendations for each course. We love.

What We Loved

Service is attentive and non-intrusive, and the sous chef comes to inquire about how the meal is. We also love the minimal décor, the mood lighting, and an almost magical garden which beckons for a post prandial moonlight walk.

What Didn’t Impress Us

We ambitiously also ordered a couple of mains from the a la carte menu, and weren’t particularly impressed with the Chowpatty In A Bowl – it was too heavy and buttery, and not as nuanced as the other fare.
