What Makes It Awesome

Ekmit Clothing, an online-only women's apparel brand, has been around for years, but it’s only recently that we discovered how much they were making us love Indian wear. Whether it's their pastel-coloured salwar-suits or their block printed saris with flared-sleeved blouses (or pretty, indie summer dresses), their designs are timeless and totally lovable.

Riya, when she began with Design Darpan, was supplying to brands like FabIndia and Westside, but over the course of time, when enough people knew her, they started encouraging her to start her own label. Prompted by friends and family and her own love for textiles, she started Ekmit (it means 'one team') to make clothes that are handcrafted and sustainable.

The brand does everything from looms to designing to block-printing to the final stitching with their in-house team. Their older clothes (they used to retail out of Ogaan a while ago) are a more formal, fit-for-smaller-wedding-festivities variety, but they’ve reinvented themselves, and the newer clothes (a part of the Rang Barse collection) wear a more hip vibe.

Easy-to-drape saris, lehengas, jumpsuits, dresses, and pants are easy on the eye, and in soothing whites and blues (with an occasional burst of red) are typical of Rang Barse. We’d be lying if we said we liked a particular outfit because we’ve crushed hard on everything we see from Indigo dresses to block-printed Chanderi saris.

You can shop for Ekmit's clothing by dropping them a message through the button right here and they'll get in touch with you!
