What is it?

This is the 14th anniversary of the annual puppet festival organised by the Ishara Trust, being held at two locations in the Delhi NCR region {and one in Chandigarh}. It is a celebration of the art of storytelling through the medium of puppetry. There are a variety of programmes and many kinds of puppets, like Marionettes, glove puppets, masks and rag dolls.

The shows promise fascinating tales, musical performances and dance.

Who is it for?

It is suitable for all ages. In fact, it is an opportunity for kids, families and anyone who has an interest in storytelling to experience a medium that they might not quite be exposed to.

Why should I go for it?

10482325_975656702456988_7318615581516240179_oTo get a chance to see puppeteers from all around the world, including countries like the UK, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Sweden, Norway, Israel, Iran, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Afghanistan, Ireland, Australia, Switzerland and USA. Phew!

Some shows render classic fairy tales such as Big Bad Wolf and Little Miss Muffet, while others perform their interpretations of folk tales from their countries of origin.

Anything else?

Might work as an offbeat date idea, considering it is that time of the year.
