What is it?
Jashn-e-Rekhta is a festival that brings the beauty of Urdu and it's various dimensions—literature, culture and more- into the public consciousness of the youth. This is the second edition, and the line-up has stalwarts like Javed Akhtar, Tom Alter, and Shabana Azmi gracing the occasion.
Who is it for?
Anybody interested in Urdu literature can come for this event. It caters to students and scholars, or even authors, poets, artists and singers. Lots of personalities from across India, Pakistan and US will be making it to the festival.
Why should I go for it?
People can expect to be entertained, enriched and educated with the likes of mushaira, Qawwali, dastangoi, ghazals, film screenings, dances, plays and more. The richness of the language is truly celebrated at this event. Sabri Brothers will be opening with their Rajasthani Qawwalis. The festival will have some excellent discussions, seminars, a food court with Mughlai food and shopping stalls.

The food court will have authentic Kashmiri, Deccani, Hyderabadi, and Lucknowi cuisine, and food from Purani Dilli, too. Yum.
