The Jugaad Story
In true Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara style, it started with three boys, two of whom ran a bespoke travel experiences company. While they found plenty of swanky hotels and a handful of charming heritage properties, they soon realised that hostels hadn’t evolved past what we know them as at boarding school level.
They decided to do something about it and Jugaad Hostels was born shortly after.
What To Expect
Jugaad Hostels is a hip version of rustic. Four of their dorm rooms are for shared sleepovers, and have access to a washroom to be shared by all the dormmates {very Queen}. Here’s good news for women of the world – there is a girls-only dorm room too. We’re digging their common room and ‘killer rooftop,’ designed for travellers to exchange stories of their wild and wonderful adventures. The barsati has one shack and many lazy hammocks, perfect for lounging over a leisurely {and hygienic} breakfast.
There are also lots of activities: Game nights for boarders, Hindi movie nights {with subtitles for out-of-towners}, cooking sessions in local cuisine, all designed for culture, curiosity and camaraderie. Short of someone strumming a guitar around a bonfire, it’s all sounding quite Yaadon Ki Baraat. Okay, we’ll stop. Clearly we’ve been watching too many movies.
Oh and they’ve got a twenty-four hour manned reception, plus a building security guard and a floor manager on call.
