Sun, Sand And A Little Bit Of The Sea At Lady Baga

If you have any inkling of how Goa was in the 70s, you know it was trippy heaven. And now you can experience that and more at your very own Baga Beach in the arid plains of CP. Welcome, Lady Baga.

Beach Shack Brouhaha

From chunky mattresses on wooden recliners to sand between your toes to the picturesque sea, it’s all there. Don’t miss the nuances, the shower in the centre, the dream catchers swinging off the ceiling and some of the coolest wall art, all this and more at Lady Baga, the newest baby from the Olive Group.

They haven’t left a seashell unturned we tell you. This is the true hippie spirit of Goa with mad drinks, great music and walls that are a screen that play nothing but the visuals of the beach. If that’s not trippy enough, then go upstairs and sit by the minivan that houses the music console and order yourself a load of shots because you’re officially in Goa baby!

First Fish, Then Breakfast

They serve breakfast till 8pm {apt considering the day in Goa starts at about noon, right?!} A hearty breakfast of fresh pancakes topped with Nutella and bananas, creamy mushrooms on toast, and a serving of baked spicy potatoes and grilled tomatoes. But honestly, it’s the seafood we’re looking at!

Crispy fried Bombil – Bombay Duck, served with coconut chutney. Kombdi vs Tisrio- clams or chicken tossed in a coarse house-spice mix, onions and coconut. Calamari or Prawns: Chilli Fry, Rechado Masala or Crumb Fried, Sungta Maria {the chef’s go-to dish, it’s prawns cooked in Uncle Melvin’s great grandmother’s recipe of house-spices; served on toasted bread}.

And then there’s Here Fishy Fishy, Bangda or Surmai Fish in: Recheado Masala or Rawa Fry. It doesn’t end there; we loved the Prawn Lonche and the Calamari Butter Garlic enough to go back again and again.

Anything Else?

Oh ya, the bar, sigh! That needs a story of its own, so go get the grub and we’re going to dish out the deets on the drinks in the next story.
