Their name might be Chindi, but their intent is anything but. This socially-responsible company from Mumbai turns textile waste into funky earrings, sling bags, yoga mat straps, and home decor with the help of women from marginalised neighbourhoods. Pom pom and floral bands for the hair, cotton sling bags with waterproof lining and adjustable canvas straps, and the pretty printed yoga mat straps are some of our favourites.
Chindi has also worked with women’s fashion brands such as Nor Black Nor White and Chiria, and kidswear label Love The World Today to create funky jewellery, headbands, and accents, all made out of waste.
