Le Bistro Du Parc: A Fabulous Parisian Meal in Delhi

The information in this post might be outdated

Tucked away in a corner of a tiny DDA shopping complex, Le Bistro Du Parc is fast becoming my go-to place for an intimate and delectable dinner. It has warm interiors, a friendly ever-smiling staff, jazz music and a lovely oh-so-chic French owner making the rounds.

Warm hues on a winter night

When I went to the restaurant last, I sat on the terrace in the warm lighting, and thanked the darkness for only highlighting the good view of the foliage. I was warmed by the thoughtfully-placed shawls on each chair, the heat emanating from coal fires, and the wonderful sounds of live jazz.

And then came the food

The new chef, Abhishek Roy, has managed to create a menu that is innovative, flavourful, and beautifully-plated. For the appetiser, I decided to try the Pistachio Crusted Chicken Liver Parfait and Port Wine Reduction instead of their very popular Pan Fried Calamari. Didn’t regret the choice one bit. When the meat is paired with the accompaniments, each bite becomes a mini, tasty meal in itself.

For the main course I went with the Crispy Farm Pork Belly with prunes and savoy cabbage. The first bite forced me to close my eyes and go, holy merde! The meat was juicy and the accompanying sauce and vegetables only enhanced the flavour, without overpowering the natural taste of the pork.

Make room for dessert

Made of 70% Valrhona paired with caramel and praline, the Chocolate Delice is pure magic. A beauty to look at, the dessert can easily serve two. Foodgasm, anyone? Kudos to owner, Naina de Bois Juzan, for getting all the ingredients right.

The restaurant’s menu tends to change frequently, which is why it is written on blackboards. This week’s highlights include Baked Brie with Honey, Pesto Vegetable Medley, Blanquette de Chicken and Strawberry Vacherin.

They also serve alcohol and can whip up a hot toddy {with brandy or rum} on request.

#LBBTip

They play live jazz on Wednesdays and Fridays. I’d suggest making a reservation on those days.
