Hey, South Delhi Folks! Did You Know How Much You Now Have To Pay If Your Dog Poops On The Street?

The information in this post might be outdated

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has recently approved a proposal that makes people liable to pay an on-the-spot fine of INR 500 if they do not clean up their dogs’ poop. As per the policy, officials of the Department of Environment Management Services {including sanitation staff, Sanitation Inspector and Assistant Inspector} can start issuing fines by the end of next month.

Leaving dog’s faeces at public places not only makes it look filthy, but also becomes a health hazard for residents of an area. Which is why, the sanitation officials will also act on complaints submitted by the residents. The RWA or the residents would also have to provide video evidence of the same on the SDMC website.

Seems like a pretty great initiative to us, and wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just cooperate?
