What Makes It Awesome
Darshana Thakur launched Rasa Lila about a 1.5 years ago and since then, she’s been making repeated trips to Kutch and other lesser-known villages in Gujarat to procure embroidered patches. She retrieves them from bed covers, cushion covers, mats, finery for camels, mats and more and some of them can be 50 years old too. These she transfers on Indian silhouettes and the range includes pretty slip-ons, patchwork cholis and even fusion dresses. While Darshana ensures that the measurements stick to the size chart and are true to ‘Indian sizes’, she is also open to customisation. In case you want a different colour (or the size doesn’t fit you like a glove), that’s possible too. The prices start at INR 1,400 and go up to INR 5,000. She takes about a week to deliver orders to your doorstep.
What Could Be Better
More variety in clothes, for one. Oh, and we wish they had a physical store for us to see these beauties.
She’s more prompt on Instagram than Facebook. So, that’s a good place to coordinate for an order. She’s in fact, quite accessible on the phone too. Yay for this.
