IAWRT Asian Women’s Film Festival

The 12th edition of the film festival will see a wide variety of movies made by women from Bangladesh, Israel, Japan, Myanmar, Philippines, South Korea, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and Vietnam. You can catch documentaries like Above Us, The Sky, Daughters of Cordillera, The Knitting Club and more, along with experimental flicks like Walk by Maki Satake.

I View World Film Festival

iviewworld Make Merry this March: 13 Festivals and Fairs We’re AttendingI View World comes to India after its massive success in New York, and we’re very excited for it. This week-long film festival will give you a new way of looking at human rights, gender, masculinities, and contemporary culture.

The line-up looks amazing, with a flurry of directors like Mira Nair, Hansal Mehta, Aparna Sen, Srijit, Prakash Jha, Rosie Haber and more. If you’re interested in sensualities and desire, this could be your jam and then some. Watch the trailer here; there are some great movies to be watched.

The Coalition

A sort of boot camp where some of the biggest, most established brands and individuals carry out panel discussions and give talks about turning ideas into businesses? YES! Everything from content creation to music to design, and media is going to be  covered, so make sure you register.

Design One

Sahachari Foundation Events is organising Design One 2016—an exhibition with a specially curated list of designers exhibiting their work in New Delhi. Supporting charities with this two-day extravaganza, the exhibition will feature couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, Nidhi Tholia, Pero By Aneeth Arora and many others.

Ice Cream City

I Haat Delhi and DLF Promenade are coming together to give you a taste of gelatos, kulfis, sorbets, chuskis, sundaes and much more. The likes of Sawad-e Ice Cream Rolls, PiccoLicko, MIO Gelato, London Dairy, Natural Ice Cream, Lovely Chuski, Thanco’s and Nirula’s will be there to welcome you. Look out for ice-cream games!

World Percussion Festival

This is a two-day festival that is welcoming artists from all over the world, with their various instruments. International percussive bands from Belgium, Israel, Indonesia and Sri Lanka are making their way to Delhi’s Nehru Park.

You can also expect a fun flea market {caricature, stilt walkers, carnival dancers, tattoo/face painting artists and more} and free entry!

Meta Theatre Festival

META2 Make Merry this March: 13 Festivals and Fairs We’re AttendingThe Mahindra Excellence in Theater Awards is back in its 11th edition this month, and will showcase theatrical talent from across the country. You’ll get to see some fabulous performances at FICCI and LTG auditoriums, and we’re loving that plays from Delhi and Maharashtra are leading the selections.

Across eight languages and shortlisted from 300 entries, we’re super excited about Mein Huun Yusuf Aur Ye Hai Mera Bhai, After Death – The Spiritual Journey, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, and more.

When: March 6 – 10

Cri de femme International Poetry and Arts Festival

In its second edition, this Poetry and Arts Festival is themed on Body and the City and is in association with Alliance Francaise and Akshara Theater {so, we’re expecting good things}.

For young women, college students, professionals, entrepreneurs and more, this Indo-French collaboration will have spoken-word poetry, music concerts, a one-day conference on sex and sexuality and so much more. We’re also pretty excited about the storytelling and art installations.

When: March 6 – 13

World Culture Festival

worldculturefestival Make Merry this March: 13 Festivals and Fairs We’re AttendingOne of the biggest events this month is going to be the World Culture Festival, organised by The Art of Living. Over 25,000 artists are expected to perform at the event, with 8,000 musicians playing 40 instruments. Artists from South America, Mongolia, Russia, US, Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Australia and Pakistan are making their way to the event.

Hip-hop and Bhangra on the same stage? We’re excited.

Ethno India

Catch Ethno India on March 5, with 40 musicians from 14 countries on stage, showing musical diversity. And on March 13, they have a concert with an ethnic orchestra by five artistic leaders from Belgium, Croatia, Chile, Sweden and India.

The entry is going to be free and everyone is invited!

International Yoga Festival

The International Yoga Festival is celebrating the silver jubilee of the International Yoga Festival with noted yoga guru and recipient of coveted Padmashri for Yoga, Dr Swami Bharat Bhushan.

Expect daylong yoga activities, discourses and panel discussions—basically, spiritual mornings and cultural evenings amidst the beauty of Rishikesh too.

The Kabir Festival
