The biggest mall of India is finally in operation {we only had to wait some 10 years for it to come up} and we’re fascinated by the sheer space. From the most popular brands {H&M and Forever 21 forever} to ones we haven’t really come across before, to a full-fledged indoor ski slope to a pretty great movie hall, the mall seems to promise a good time.

And no good time is complete without a good lunch {or dinner}. Presenting, our top picks for a quick bite {or a long leisurely meal, whatever your jam is} at Mall of India.

The Bento Cafe

A debutant restaurant, The Bento Cafe is fast gaining popularity. They offer a range of pre-set bento boxes as well as ‘make your own.’ We were very happy to see meats such as duck, pork, crab and lamb apart from the usual chicken. They’re also keeping vegetarians happy with fresh vegetables and tofu. All at nominal prices.

Don’t forget to try the fried ice cream with tempura profiterole.

This Gurgaon import is doing great things. If you’re wondering what we mean, order the Chicken Farcha, Shikanji and Berry Pulao when you’re dining here. They also do a surprisingly good cold coffee so you may want to even step in for a quick snack.

PizzaExpress has some good pizza, nobody can deny. But strangely enough, it is the salads at the Noida outlet which are impressing us more; the watermelon and goat cheese salad, for example. If you must eat pizza {we feel you}, go for their Hawaiian Express- a beautiful combination of pineapple and ham.

Rolls King

One of the prime VFM outlets here, Rolls King has a menu full of…rolls. Choose from seekh kebab rolls, Arabian chicken wrap, mutton egg rolls, soya chaap roll and paneer bhurji rolls. We love that unlike the rest of the food court, Rolls King accepts debit and credit cards because, that’s how they roll. Convenience FTW.

Bacon-wrapped prawns. ‘Nuff said. We also love Mamagoto‘s bowl meals and their Chinese Sour and Pepper Soup with 22 Ingredients always has a place in our order.

The Noida outlet also has Mamatiffins which are essentially bento boxes for delivery. Perfect for office lunches.

Oh So Stoned

Another MOI exclusive {it’s come to Noida all the way from Hyderabad}, Oh So Stoned is a dessert stall with a focus on sundaes. They make it all in front of you using fresh fruit, chocolate and a bunch of syrups. Top it up with whipped cream and a cherry and you’re sorted for any sweet cravings you may be harbouring inside you. Our picks include the Banoffee Freeze, coconut jaggery and red velvet.
