One of the newest stores in Meherchand Market, Craftroots has everything from home décor items, footwear, accessories, clothing and more, all featuring traditional Gujarati craftwork.

Artisans All The Way

Craftroots has got on board about 25,000 artisans all based in Gujarat {in eight centres spread across Patan, Mehsana, Kachchh, Bhavnagar, and Bharuch} to work on 45 different craft forms!

They’ve also employed 2,000 women from the slums and lower-income areas of Gujarat to work for them.

Go, Gujarati!

So the store has three floors—the ground floor is where you’ll find block-print kurtas, sarees, khadi shirts for men, jewellery, leather handbags, dupattas and sarees featuring bandhini and rogan work, juttis, and mashru fabric by the metre.

The basement is home to decorative items such as lamps and frames. We found a really cool laptop wire holder {made of leather}, which was priced only for INR 199! If you want some organic products for your kitchen, they’ve got red rice, black rice, and healthy juices too.

The first floor is where you should head if you want to spruce up your space with pretty cushion covers and table runners with Kutchi work, table mats, rugs, and dohars with stunning Gujarati craftwork.

PS: While you’re there, don’t miss the beautiful Warli painting, mudwork and Matani Pachhedi {similar to Kalamkari} artwork that adorns the walls of each floor.
