Faarsi for scrumptious shawarma rolls, juicy kebabs and a delicious #drunchies option in Hauz Khas Village.

Location, Location, Location

Ensconced comfortably in the main artery of the Village is the brilliantly blue, brightly-lit Faarsi, serving Middle Eastern cuisine to the hordes of Hauz Khas. The restaurant has an express takeaway window on the street, a small sit-down space at the back, and they do home delivery.

What’s on the Menu?

Faarsi has a host of kebabs, shawarma wraps, soups and salads, large mains, platters and sides. The Chicken, Lamb and Falafel Shawarma wraps are all good, but to us, the chicken is the standout. Served with a garlic dip, pickle and hummus, the roll is large and soft, the chicken is succulent and the veggies have a nice crunch.

The Cheese Sambousek is a small cheese-filled pastry {resembling a tiny baked samosa} that when served hot is gooey, heavy and heady. Among the kebabs, the Chicken Jujeh Kebab, the Lamb Koobideh Kebab {a signature dish}, and Chicken Shish Touk are standouts. We’ve also previously enjoyed the Vegetarian Mezze Platter, which comes with six dips, four veggie dishes and some pita bread.

What is It Best For?

With quick and easy home delivery, Faarsi is a great dinner option for a movie night in, or when you’re too lazy to cook after work. However, there is nothing better than walking out of a bar in HKV; tired, sweaty and starving, to find the glowing, enticing lights of Faarsi. It also makes for the perfect brunch option, when the night before’s been hectic.
