Tanya posted on 12th January

What is it?

Naad Nartan is organising a two-day dance and music festival in the memory of Pt. Tirath Ram Sharma, noted Kathak dancer of Jaipur Gharana. Guru Nandini Eswar, famed Bharatnatyam and Kathak dancer, and her disciples from Mysore {along with the disciples of Smt. Kamini Gadoo} will be performing some ethereal pieces.

Vidushi Uma Garg, a vocalist from Kirana Gharana, Ustad Iqbal Ahmad Khan, the famous vocalist of Delhi Gharana and Swati Sinha, the Kathak maestro of Jaipur Gharana will also perform at the festival.

Who is it for?

934917_167321410114760_1931196276_nThe festival aims to bring together artists and art lovers in a single space. If you’re an aficionado of classical Hindustani arts, then this is your jam.

Why should I go for it?

The programme will hone your sense of appreciation towards the art form, and may just generate an interest if you don't have any. We are going for the Naad Nartan journal that will be released on Day Two.

Do be seated half an hour prior to the beginning of the event. If interested in learning the art form, one can contact Naad Nartan, since they run a school and train disciples.
