Building up to International Chefs Day with the Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme

The information in this post might be outdated

Any fussy eaters in the house? You’ll relate. Nestle recently organised an event with Magic Bus, where they invited children from marginalised communities who are a part of Nestle’s Healthy Kids programme for a fun cooking session with Chef Zaheer Khan. The aim here was to teach these kids life hacks on how to eat healthy without compromising on taste or spending too much. And boy, were they excited to learn!

#HealthyKids

All children hate veggies. But the folks at Nestle know the importance of eating right while growing up, especially for those who already lack most of life’s basic amenities. So in light of the upcoming International Chefs Day, they decided to partner with Chef Zaheer Khan to teach these kids how to stay healthy, wealthy & strong. And also, we learnt a little too.

Filled with super-energetic kids, this event was nothing but a lively and jolly affair. These tiny enthu cutlets were more than excited to learn all the three recipes that were demonstrated. Dishes like dalia & green idli might not seem so appetizing, but the way it was cooked, almost every single child in the crowd licked their plates clean.

For each of the recipe, the team made sure that a group of kids were up there on the stage (like a couple of tiny sous chefs) so that they could go back and help out their friends with these recipes later on as well. The Chef made sure that each step, ingredient & benefit was carefully explained, so that the importance of this event doesn’t get lost in all the fun.

All Fun & Games

Remember when we were kids and we wondered what we wanted to be when we grew up? The folks here made a game out of it using fresh fruits and veggies. Each child in the audience was given a place mat along with a plateful of colorful items and were asked to create something that depicted the profession they want to choose when they grow up. The vibrancy was unbelievable. From football players, to policeman with big moustaches, to rangolis, to the Indian flag - the creativity in the room combined with the enthusiasm just made every moment worth it. Top 3 creations were also rewarded with fun surprise gifts.

So We Are Saying…

Kudos to the team at Imperial Hotel for all the hard work as well. It was nothing short of a pamper sesh for everyone who was present. From live interactive session filled with high-spirited vibe to delicious dishes full of healthy life hacks - this event is an experience worth remembering.
