While train journeys might be a delightful experience (the nostalgic value is ever so high), going through the railway station is hardly an experience you ever look forward to.

That’s all about to change for the New Delhi Railway Station, though—it’s already got colourful walls, street art and graffiti all over and will be getting revamped toilets, upgraded waiting rooms, new display screens and more soon! The overhaul is set to be complete by the end of June, and we can’t wait to go check the space out.

You will now spot a clean, new wash of red and white paint on the station’s face (the Ajmeri Gate entry), huge paintings of peacocks and leopards on staircases, and street art across the front entry. As far as cleanliness goes, the station now has more cleaning staff than ever that’ll help in maintaining the artsy aesthetic of the railway station going forward.

Even if you haven’t planned a getaway that’d require you to take a train, we say you check out New Delhi Railway Station’s ongoing makeover anyway.
