Delhiites, gone are the times when you had to just stick to ordering in due to the pandemic. With things looking under control, and places taking the requisite precautionary measures, it is time to get dressed, look pretty, and wine and dine again. That being said, a few new (and happening) restaurants have recently popped up in Delhi. Here's a list of the best ones, accompanied with reasons why you must keep them on your radar!

Ladurée, Khan Market

This iconic French patisserie has been around since 1862 and is present in  21 countries. It has finally graced India with its debut in Delhi's Khan Market. Spread over three floors, this Parisian tearoom has been given a desi edge with arched mirrors, Indian marble tabletops, and magnificent green marble planters. Head here if you want to feast on the finest macarons (13 flavors, we’re told!), chocolates, pastries, and all things sweet. Of course, there’s a high tea menu too with sandwiches and avocado toast. Their wonderful teas section includes black tea, cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, and ginger. The hot chocolate here is pretty good too. If you're more into savory, try the chicken tikka sandwich here for sure. 

What To Eat: Signature Ladurée staples like teacakes, candies, vol-au-vents, croissants, and of course the macarons in 13 flavours.

The Tangra Project, Saket

The Tangra Project has a lot to keep you interested. There's Mughlai food, Anglo-Indian signatures, traditional Bengali delicacies, popular Indian-Chinese inspired by the Hakka community who migrated to India, among others. There are about 200 dishes to choose from on the menu, but the highlights are their potol er dolma, chholar daal, doi maach, all inspired by the owner's mother's recipes. Do not miss out on the meaty curries and Kathi rolls either. Bookmark this place if you're looking to go for a leisurely brunch with your family or friends. 

What To Eat: Kosha jackfruit, Darjeeling egg-chicken momos, Nazaakati boti, potol dolma

White Oak Cafe, Ghitorni

The ambience of a restaurant plays a very important role in making your experience wholesome. So, if you are constantly on the prowl for restaurants that boast gorgeous outdoor seating areas, then we have found just the right place for you. Perfect for a date night, White Oak Cafe in Ghitorni has jet black chairs complemented by olive green cushions and wooden tables, that sit on a bed of pristine white stones, giving it a beach-like vibe. Their multi-cuisine menu has an exquisite array of dishes that include everything from pasta and pizzas to sushi and burgers! 

What To Eat: Mezze platters, all the cocktails, mushroom and jackfruit confit, thin-crust pizzas

Ru Bar Ru, Noida

Known as a 'Clubstraunt', Ru Bar Ru is as unique as its name. This newbie in Noida is a really happening place with gorgeous interiors, impeccable decor, and an outdoor area that's illuminated by lots of lights to create a magical vibe. Another one that's perfect for date nights, their menu comprises delicious options like Soya Keema Curry, Spicy Mushroom Spaghetti, and BBQ Chicken. Also sip on some of their lip-smacking signature cocktails like Dilli 6, Zero Degree Martini, and Date Me Please! 

What To Eat: Kebab platters, soya keema curry, lotus root honey chili, mushroom galouti

Woodrose Caffe, Gurugram

This elegantly decorated space boasts a cozy and warm vibe. With a stylish indoor dining area that houses comfy sofa chairs and large French windows, the cafe has ample natural light coming in. However, it is their pretty outdoor seating area that’s won our hearts. There's a lot of greenery all around, which makes your dining experience no less than a tropical retreat. The menu has some lip-smacking comfort food like juicy burgers, creamy pasta, and succulent kebabs. 

What To Eat: Chicken skewers, Thai curries, sandwiches and burgers

Xo Kitty, GTB Nagar

This lounge cum restaurant, located in the heart of Hudson Lane in GTB Nagar, has one of the best ambiances. There's a royal indoor eating and outdoor seating plus a terrace that offers great views of Delhi. The menu here is a mix of Continental, North Indian, Asian and Italian dishes. And if you're in the mood to drink up, hit their super LIT bar! 

What To Eat: Asparagus tempura, tandoori khumb, mutton kheema, and Katsu maki

On Air Bar & Kitchen, Faridabad

This rooftop restaurant in Faridabad has a chic and modern setting and offers great views from its terrace. And the pretty pink and white flowers in the outdoor section provide a splash of color to the otherwise black and white furnishings inside. The menu has an amalgamation of European, Italian, and Chinese fare here. So, catch up with your squad over a thin-crust pesto cheese pizza or an Italian espresso, because we hear that the food is really droolworthy!

Miss Pinto, Vasant Vihar

If you love yourself a fine whisky and a cigar, then you will enjoy this new restaurant that revolves around a mysterious lady, 'Miss Pinto' who is known to have traveled around the globe, and ducked into bars and fine-dining restaurants before coming to Delhi. Located on the second floor of Vasant Vihar, this restaurant's menu is eclectic with delicacies like mutton Katsu, grilled prawns, duck salad, and more such mouthwatering items. The cocktail menu is equally diverse with a chai-inspired Negroni and a smoky and spicy Old Fashioned. 

What To Eat: Avocado chili fritters, charred broccoli, grilled prawns

Pllatos, Vasant Kunj

Rooftop seating, great music, and an awesome ambiance, complete with gorgeous lighting and Instagram-worthy wall quotes. That sum's up the quirks of Pllatos, a pan-Asian and European spot in town. The elaborate menu offers a range of maki sushi rolls, open-faced grilled mushroom toast, and a few Indian picks like chaat and kebabs. End your meal with biscoff cheesecake or banoffee pie in a jar.

What To Eat: Wasabi Philadelphia, spicy cruch tuna, grilled mock meat, Greek platters

Norwang Cafe, Majnu Ka Tila

Want to experience Santorini while in Delhi? This restaurant will make your dream come true. Decked with white walls and bright blue accents, Norwang Cafe is super dreamy and we must say, it would be the perfect backdrop for plenty of Instagram pictures. There are two dining areas here - indoor seating which offers exceptional views of the Yamuna river, and the other is outdoor seating on their terrace, which is where you’ll feel like you’re in Santorini. Feast on their Chinese, Tibetan, and continental dishes that simply spell out ‘yummy’!
