Right across PVR Plaza is this small, quaint Lebanese restaurant that has the potential to reinstill one’s love for Shawarmas. A relaxing white and azure Mediterranean ambience sets the tone for one of the finer casual dining experiences in the city. We sampled the spicy hummus with the freshest fluffy pita bread; it was different in having a slight bite of crunchy picked vegetables and a mild hot hit of sumac. Next up was the Chicken Shawarma, with appealing grill-lines that took away the flour taste of the bread; the filling was light, fresh, and healthy and the meat tender, juicy and flavourful. But the showstopper was the Zaatar Man’oushe, a flat pizza with a mixed herb topping of dried thyme, sesame seeds and sumac; it is the stuff good Dubai memories are made of! The hand-pressed mint lemonade and rosewater juice perfectly complement this idyllic meal. The staff is well informed and tells us the menu aims to take one back to the simplicity of the countryside, which is also the significance of the name Zizo, meaning a little beetle. Promising new start, and we’re definitely going back for the Baklava!

The Grill Room |

Located on the 28th floor of The Lalit, New Delhi is The Grill Room. If the 28th floor mention didn't give you enough of an indicator, get this - the restaurant offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the city, and not just any part of the city, but Central Delhi, which is prettier than most other parts. The menu offers a wide selection of premium meats, seafood and poultry, both domestic and internationally sourced. The Grill Room goes the extra mile, and has paired every meat with a wine they believe will enhance the experience. It boasts an open plan kitchen, so you know how, where and how much your meats are being worked on, which should work out great for anyone who knows the difference between a rare and a medium done steak. If the view wasn't the clincher, the restaurant is candle-lit during dinner {date night anyone?}, so you can really enjoy the city lights over a finely done steak.

ROFL |

We're not entirely sure if they're referring to rolling on the floor and laughing, but it wouldn't matter even if you decided to, considering ROFL is one of the most welcoming, relaxed and informal food joints in the city. Located in SJP, straight down from Ivy and Bean, ROFL serves up Modern European cuisine and is most popular for their burgers, pizzas and mains. Also, while they wait {we hope it isn't endlessly, come on Delhi}, for a liquor license, we hear their mocktails almost make you forget there's no alcohol. With no dress code, or strict policies, ROFL is a perfect extension of your living room, and lets you behave as if it were. They're open for lunch and dinner, and last order is at 11pm.
