Guitar lovers, tune up! New York Guitar Festival 2020 (NYGF2020) is hosting an online performance series this year, called 'Reverend Gary Davis: In Search Of The Harlem Street Singer' that seeks to celebrate the music of this blues music icon. Gary Davis was a blind blues musician who overcame racial discrimination and poverty to make great music that has been covered by the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, and Bob Dylan.
As part of this online performance series, various artists like Rosanne Cash, Brandon Ross, Kaia Kater, and more will be covering Reverend Gary Davis' songs that will be released each day on NYGF's YouTube channel for 12 days, starting May 4. The series is free and it's a great chance for us to attend a festival that has been dedicated to guitar music since 1999.
