Nimmu House

The information in this post might be outdated

An imposing building of 1,200 square meters, Nimmu House is one of the last surviving examples of an original style of traditional architecture. In Nimmu village, close to Indus and Zanskar rivers, the house is one of the few noble homes that survive today and provides 4 bedrooms, 5 tents, a dining space, a library and a living room other than two Buddhist temples, stables and an orchard full of apricot, apple and walnut trees.

The owners of Nimmu House have turned the restoration into a heritage project to preserve the local culture and architecture, create economic opportunities for the locals and an authentic Ladakhi experience for travellers.
