Sunset Cinema Club, popular for hosting super fun screenings (you may have heard of their outdoor "Movies and Chill" screening at Akshara), is now back for another round of fun film watching. This time, they're going old school with their movie selection, calling it Cinema Royale-a gratifying movie watching experience which makes you revisit films that gave cinema a new meaning.
So, settle down for a weekend of revisiting the classics. Saturday evening begins with The Godfather a story about the ageing patriarch of an organised crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son. Next up is Taxi Driver - a mentally unstable veteran works as a taxi driver in New York, where the perceived decadence and sleaze fuels his urge for violent action while attempting to liberate a young prostitute. Gear up to start with Scarface the next day, a movie about a determined Cuban immigrant who takes over a drug cartel and succumbs to greed. The last movie to be screened is The Usual Suspects, in which a sole survivor tells of the twisty events leading up to a horrific gun battle on a boat, which began when five criminals met at a random police lineup.
