We’re So Pairing These Clay Jhumkas With Our Sweaters This Winter

We can’t be the only ones missing wearing pretty jhumkas in winters, can we? These earrings we recently stumbled upon solves that problem.

Play With Clay

We’ve tried. Pairing jhumkas with our predominantly western winter wardrobe, that is. The look we were going for: The badass desi girl, who could throw on a pair of chunky earrings, put on thick kohl around the eyes, and step out wearing a sweater and leather boots, looking fly. Reality: The look was not so much badass as it was cringeworthy.

We came across India Kala recently, an online portal for all things handicraft and we fell in love with these clay earrings they’ve got. Handcrafted by women artisans from Kerala, these jhumkas come in lots of vibrant shades—orange, fuchsia, turquoise, purple, golden, green—name it and they’ve got it.

So We’re Saying…

These are pretty great to pair with your everyday look—both Indian as well western. We’re loving these white-yellow ones, turquoise ones, and orange-fuchsia ones. And since they’re made of clay, they’re quite lightweight, thus easy on the ears.
