What Makes It Awesome

Enough has been said about this cafe at Olive in Mehrauli, but a little more gushing doesn’t hurt when the place looks like quite the stunner and has a menu that has us hooked (aah, those pancakes). The Grammar Room is our favourite chilled-out all-day dining space that loves you for the pyjama and paperback-loving couch potato you are. The good (probably the greatest at the moment) news is that they're once again open for dine-in, deliveries and takeaways. Folks here are ensuring all safety precautions in their kitchen space and during the delivery process. So, you wouldn't have to worry.

While it’s essentially a part of the Olive Bar & Kitchen family, they insist on having their own menu and running their own kitchen. They’ve got that tropical theme down to a ‘T’ with big French Windows, white walls and bright, floral cushions. Our favourite part has to be their outdoor deck, that lets you put up your feet and look at the forest. Okay, maybe we’re biased because we had the loveliest Raspberry Sorbet Spritzer & Hibiscus GnT under the sun here. Other brekkie things that kept making their way to our sunny spot on Sunday deserve a bit of gushing too.

There isn’t a better way to begin than with an Avocado toast here, followed by a beautiful medley of flavours that comes in a bowl and goes by the name of Passion Pomelo salad (think oranges, pomegranate, lettuce, balsamic vinegar and more). As morning turned to afternoon with the espresso Old Fashioned and GnTs flowing in, we also tried a variety of eggs and toast turned into things of art. Whether they gave us sauteed mushrooms and a fried egg on toast (hey you, Shroom Melt Tartine) or fig and kale, we devoured them with the love that, in our head, is only reserved for comfort food. We ended the perfectly filling brekkie with Koinonia’s freshly-brewed Cinnamon Cold Brew. Before the coffee ended, we knew we were going back for seconds and thirds, and maybe we’re going to lose count when we sit in the same spot, with the sun on our back and a coffee cocktail in our hand. Wave out if you see us. It’s criminal to leave without trying their fluffy pancakes; they’re soft as a cloud and safely the best the city has to offer. Also, they've got a bunch of options that are perfect for vegans too.
