#LBBPhotoStory: The Amarnath Yatra

The information in this post might be outdated

The Amarnath Cave, considered one of the holiest Hindu sites, is located roughly 141 kms from Srinagar. Every year, thousands of devotees make the gruelling trek across the rough, mountain terrain, braving rain, snow and landslides. It starts at Pahalgam, and takes three to five days on foot.

If you’re planning on taking the trek, then remember it begins every year around the Shravani Mela, between July to August. If you have respiratory or health issues, we recommend you get a full check-up before attempting this, due to the adverse weather conditions, arduous length of the trek and high altitudes {the shrine is nestled 12,756 feet up in the Himalayas}.

Take a look.
