Quick Road Trip, Anyone? These 4 Places Are Beautiful & Just 200 Kms From Delhi!

The information in this post might be outdated

These four places just a few hours away will let you plan some super-interesting trips without worrying about taking leaves or facing an angry boss. Time to ditch the same old getaways and try out these new ones instead.

Bikamp Aravallis Camp Resort

Less than four hours away from Delhi, lies the Bikamp Aravallis Camp Resort – a campsite with Mongolian Yurt tents surrounded by the Aravallis and offering a plethora of activities to keep you occupied. With mountains, starry skies and baithaks, this camp is every bit pastoral but not at the cost of your comfort. They have 11 huge traditional Mongolian tents with King size beds, attached washrooms, offers multi-cuisine food and since they do not have Wi-Fi, think of a weekend getaway at Bikamp as a digital detox for all you city-tired souls. The price INR for double sharing tent/per night is INR 4,000 {includes all three meals & snacks, accommodation, one hour trek and indoor & outdoor games} & INR 5,200 per night for triple sharing.

P. S.- They offer a 10% discount if you book a month or 20 days in advance.

Mud Fort, Kuchesar

Originally an 18th century abode of royals, the Mud Fort has opened its doors for us plebes, and we are awed. The banks of the Brijghat {about 25 kms away} are the perfect spot for a bit of picnicking and family time. The mango orchards nearby are open for bullock cart rides. They also arrange village and farm visits. The rooms start at INR 5, 500 and the place is totally worth it if you’ve been searching for a holiday spot that will offer a very pastoral and simple vacay.

Astroport Sariska

Astroport Sariska is the first-of-its-kind, astronomy resort in India. Fully equipped with telescopes, binoculars and cameras, Astroport Sariska promises hours of uninterrupted star-gazing, as you marvel at the vastness of the universe and, consequently, your own relative insignificance. Spot stars by the night and stripes by the day – head out for a Jungle Safari while it’s still light outside. There’s actually lots to do in and around the astroport – sip chai by the Mansarovar lake, enlist yourself for cycling tours and explore the many forts around the resort and maybe make your way to Bat Point? This resort has us starry-eyed and we think it’s the perfect family holiday.

Peepal Kothi

Mushroom farming. A pond. Slow food. Doggies. And greenery everywhere. Peepal Kothi is barely half an hour away from Gurgaon and is three acres of pure happiness with all the above. This farm stay is idyllic for it’s close enough for last-minute plans but far far away from the dust and pollution. The ducks lounging in the lake, sit-out verandahs and white butter slathered rotis only add to the charm. The tariffs are on the higher side {INR 8,000 for a single kothi inclusive taxes} but they include meals and you aren’t going to spend on commute going to far off places. Start saving and you won’t regret it even for a microsecond. Not when those doggies come and bundle up next to your toes at least.
