Portraits from Within: Mario D’Souza Enthralls With Installations

The information in this post might be outdated

What is it?

In collaboration with the French Embassy in India {Institut Francais en Inde}, Alliance Francaise de Delhi is presenting an installation by Mario D’Souza.

Mario D’Souza was born in Bangalore in 1973, and has lived in France for a decade or so, settling around the area of Menetou-Salon. He lived in a house planted in the middle of a vineyard, and was able to undertake the necessary cross-fertilisation and fusion of cultures and experiences from India and France.

Who is it for?

Anyone who loves colours, installations and art in general can go check this out.

Why should I go for it?

With no bias towards either culture, he has produced, over the past two or three years, an extremely personal body of work. You can see how he has used thought, sensitivity, intuition, sensuality and even eroticism {admittedly underlying but present everywhere} and blended it into his work.

Anything else?

The artists says that the installation is a “celebration of forms to represent my life in France and in India. A combination of two ideas to vive a rich language of cultures.”
