Mini potted plants, that double up as air purifiers, are the perfect alternative to a bouquet of red roses. Aesthetically pleasing, long-lasting [like your love} and thoughtful, a pot of bonsai is the V-Day gift you should be giving.
Plant One On Me
We checked out Masjid Nursery on Pandara Road – they stock a huge variety of tiny plants and succulents, in addition to gardening tools, pots and large, flowering plants. Begnonia, aloe vera, bamboo or cactus, these look great in colourful pots and jars. The caretakers are very helpful and will walk down the rows and rows of greenery till you find a pot you love.
Certain plants convey specific meanings, just like flowers have their own language. A mini cactus plant, in addition to upping your partner's Instagram aesthetic, signifies longevity. We think that’s pretty romantic, to be honest. Or a white clover, perhaps? It's a reminder to "think of me", which your SO is guaranteed to do every time they look at it.
A Lot Like Love
Masjid Nursery also has a huge collection of colourful pots and containers. See something you like? They’re happy to add soil and lay down the roots for your new plant.
Potted plants are super affordable and a tiny succulent will set you back only INR 100. How about setting up a miniature indoor garden for your Valentine by picking up a few different varieties? It could be a writing corner or a place to unwind with a book – they’ll be blown away by the time and thought you put in.
So We’re Saying…
Dash out to a nursery closest to you instead of twiddling your green thumbs – Feb 14 is upon us!
#LBBTip: Rajdhani Nursery in Jor Bagh is also worth checking out – we couldn’t find lavender at Masjid, maybe they stock this beaut purple plant.
