Pranati & Sahib: Indo-Western Drapes and Embellished Clutch Bags

Ipsita posted on 22nd April

The Scoop

A brand new designer duo on the block, Pranati & Sahib’s eponymous label just launched its debut collection called The Poised Empress—an Indo-western clothing line. They’ve also got a line of dressy minaudière {clutch bags} to go with this collection.

The Style

Though they’ve got traditional Indian outfits like anarkalis and sarees as a part of their collection, the drapes give them an Indo-western look. Furthermore, they’ve got tunics, maxi dresses, skirts, broad pants, and quirky crop tops too, making these pieces more than appropriate for sangeets as well as cocktail parties.

The colour usage is either on the soft pastel side—ivory, pale yellow, and lavender—or veers towards darker jewel tones, like peacock-blue and black. The embroideries also take two routes—either geometric and linear embellishments with stones and sequins {extensively used on the clutch bags}, or zari, dori, and resham embroideries.

What We Love

The use of fresh pastel shades sure makes these pieces wearable. The crop tops with the broad pants are very clean contemporary, and quite classy. We think they can be easily mixed and matched to get varied options for the shaadi season without burning a hole in your pocket.

The clutch bags are pretty cool too; the mosquito embellished clutch bag {yep, you read that right} is what we have our eyes on.

Who It’s For

Ladies, if you want something not-quite-so traditional to wear for a sangeet or wedding, Pranati & Sahib may have something for you.
