Priyanka has been belly dancing for nine years and is very particular about the authenticity of the dance form. She teaches Egyptian and Fusion, where you get to pick up basic moves such as the Hit, Lifts, Maya, various different kinds of shimmies and hip and chest rolls {sounds like Greek? Get a basic idea here}.

The music is rustic – mainly Darbuka {it’s a kind of drum}.

What To Expect

The classes go according to the pace of the students; Priyanka is patient and thorough. Each class starts with a quick warm up which also covers some basic isolations, followed by some new techniques and a short choreography at the end.

I’ve been learning belly dance on and off for the last one year – it’s one of the most fun ways to stay fit. And if you stay regular {unlike me}, abs don’t have to be a far off dream.
