Delhi’s music scene has forgotten lyrics; unless you count the random three syllables on loop in between beats that make your heart want to stop beating. Say hello to Magnolia Sessions and North and South, who make mixes which combine bearable beats, and lyrics that could actually count as a paragraph.

Magnolia and North and South have been making the city dance to their tunes almost every other weekend. With gigs at Kitty Su, Lap, Fio, Pizzeria Rossa in Delhi, White Owl and Infinito in Mumbai, and a Sunburn Campus gig under their decks, the boys stay clear of intense, where-does-one-song-end-and-the-next-start kind of music. They release weekly podcasts of carefully curated mixes, alternating between chill, progressive sounds, and high energy, big room sound. They intersperse enough commercial, well-known tracks with mixes of popular music, keeping it accessible, commercial and happy.

In between prepping for their next gig in Bangalore, they made us a special mix comprising progressive trance and electro. This thirty-minute mix is the perfect playlist for a non-mellow, semi-banger of a time, for your next party, or your next intense cardio session.
