Gunpowder, Pork Belly & Bacon Sandwiches From Sandwich & Sons

Sandwich & Sons made their debut at The Palate Fest and received a pretty kickass response. Why? We’re thinking gunpowder and coconut, falafel, pork belly and layers upon layer of bacon in fresh, quality bread.

Coconut and gunpowder belong together, as proven time and again by many a meaty curry we’ve had the pleasure of encountering. But we never did think we’d be enjoying these flavours in between two slices of soft brown bread. And we’re never going back {unless we’re at Gunpowder in Goa, of course}.

If you’re a carnivore, you’re going to love the Pork Belly one which comes with plum sauce, the Bacon Bacon Bacon and perhaps the Lamb Burger. Tender well-spiced meats with fresh bread- you can’t really go wrong, can you?

We were thrilled {not just on behalf of our vegetarian friends} that they’ve actually put in some thought in making the perfect vegetarian sammich- and we’re talking beyond paneer.

They’ve got a Juicy Beetroot Sandwich which is as tasty as it is healthy, a Grilled Veggie and Feta one which is chock full of cheese, bell peppers, zucchini and eggplant. But the most popular pick perhaps is the Beirut Oh Beirut- home-made falafel, pickled vegetables and hummus. There’s also an eggplant one with parmesan, mozzarella, arrabiatta sauce and fresh basil.

Sandwich & Sons has taken a simple sandwich and turned it into a fancy, yet affordable gourmet meal. They’re definitely getting space on our speed dial.
