Ten Second Takeaway

This independent studio in Meherchand market, known for craftsmanship in textile and fabrics, has launched Japanese inspired design for the monsoon season.

Shades of India, in a nutshell

Started on a love for all things indie and design, Shades of India produces elegant, and usually loose styles of apparel perfect for Indian summers, under the brand Shades & White. They play with silhouettes, prints and fiddly little details that borrow all the good stuff from Indian design, both traditional and contemporary.

Baiyu, by who?

This monsoon, Shades of India has launched a gorgeous and very wearable line of breathable apparel, inspired by Japan’s blooming plums. {It’s a bit more poetic than it sounds.} Experimenting with traditional Japanese motifs, and the distinct but subtle Sashiko style with tiny emphasised dart-like inflections, expect to see strong geometrical themes and dragonflies. Both of which we like.
