Started by two sisters {Shishu Suman & Chetna},Madhubani Motifs is a label that offers beautiful, handloom stoles, shirts, jewellery and more with hand-painted Madhubani and Mithila folk art. Remember those Panchatantra stories you’d read as kids? These sisters are bringing those motifs back {but into our wardrobe} and how.

The Good, Good Stuff

Madhubani Motifs is a small, but stellar, brand that was started by the two sisters in February 2015 out of their home in Pune. Both Chetna and Shishu still have full-time jobs as software engineers in MNCs, but manage their label with help from their family members.

Coming from a family of artists, these sisters are naturals when it comes to art, which is evident once you browse through their Instagram feed.

They’ve got a massive range of pretty earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets that come with the colourful motifs of birds, flowers and animals, all of which you’d find in those Panchatantra tales. We’re fans in particular fan of their of their easy-breezy handwoven blouses, Mangalkari stoles and flow-y dresses that promise to make summer a lot more bearable. They also have a decent collection of handmade wooden combs, silk dupattas and jewellery boxes that make for great gifting options too.
