Extended Family Visiting? Lodge Them At This Gorgeous House In Defence Colony

Ten-Second Takeaway

Bungalow 99 is a two-months-old homestay that lets you choose a room or a whole apartment for a comfy stay in Delhi. It’s close to popular hangout places, is well-appointed and has a kitchen that you can use for making quick sandwiches and coffee {They stock Devans}.

So Much Room For Creativity

Bathed in pristine white and  specks of colour, the interiors are legit #DecorGoals. It all falls into place when we read that they’ve been done by Pio Coffrant, the person behind the stunning interior design of Lchang Nang Retreat in Ladakh and La Bodega in Khan Market. No wonder, the house looks like a plush European cafe or an avant-garde art gallery.

The apartment can take a total of six folks {in three rooms} and comes with a living room, a wonderful verandah and a library. Meals can be prepared on request, cabs can be arranged and laundry can be taken care of. So, you’re essentially living in a house but with all the comforts you’d hardly ever expect from on.

You have the man in charge, Aditya to thank for all this impeccable organisation and obsession with detail. He makes sure he visits daily to ensure there’s not a strand out of place. The plan to have every room fitted with an air purifier or choosing the softest pillows go on to show how much little things matter to the hosts of Bungalow 99.  Oh, and they have a big library in the basement that we can’t wait to raid… Just one of the good things about this beauty.

Have A Sunny Vacation

Each of their rooms look like something out of an interior company’s catalogue. The Green Room has a tropical theme going with its quirky furnishings and a tall peepal tree visible from the window. Then, there’s the Blue Room that comes with a soothing bath tub and walk-in shower that’ll make you forget you’re in a Delhi house just a stone’s throw away from the mad bazaars and bustling street food joints.

The third, Red Room, is a calming mix of warm pinks and a soft glow from its beige elements.

No matter which one you pick, we see a lot of natural light streaming through the windows and an unmistakable charm that’s hard to find in a day and age when everyone’s going all dramatic and OTT.

So, We're Saying...

They can whip up a mean pasta {and other Continental treats} on request and will arrange a taxi in case you want to drop by the Def Col market for drinks at Social. These are great reasons to turn down the offer of bunking at the relative who loves greasy food and asks the most awkward questions.

A room here will sent you back by INR 7,000 a night and an apartment/floor by INR 19,000 but we’re told the prices come down as the stay gets longer.
