As much as we’d like for each and every product in our refrigerator and pantry to be organic, our pockets never allowed it. Until of course we discovered Teri Mart.

Hello, Herbs

A research initiative by TERI, a non-profit organisation working in the fields of energy, environment, and sustainable development, TRISHA was launched in Supi village near Mukteshwar {Nainital}. They take help from various governments and international agencies to help local farmers grow culinary herbs, spices, and aromatic plants with the use of organic compost.

You can buy organically grown produce here; dried herbs such as oregano, parsley, thyme, and rosemary, spices such as garlic spice mix and turmeric, and grains like ragi, amaranth, buckwheat, all at really nominal prices. They’ve even got jams, pickle, and herbal teas.

So We’re Sayin’…

We’ve seriously not found organic products as well-priced as the ones sold at Teri Mart. To give you an example: We’ve bought 200 grams of amaranth from another budget-friendly store INR 95, whereas we got the same quantity at Teri for INR 50! They’ve got a limited range of products at the moment, but will expand it soon.

Where: Teri Mart, Darbari Seth Block, IHC Complex, Lodhi Road. You can shop online here.
