Classic simple with a twist

Run by the same folks as Mom’s Kitchen, The Food Shack keeps it basic; they don’t have unusual names or dishes on the menu. There are things you’ve heard about before, but they have their own take on them.

The Keema Naan gives you a taste of the Amritsari Kulcha and should be given a try {though the filling was not so fulfilling!}. The Chicken Roll is lovely for it does not have the usual big chunks of chicken; instead, they use minced meat prepared with some “special” spices {we’re placing our bets on achaari masala}. The Lemon Mutton is like your regular mutton masala with a hint of lemon at the end; a winner of a dish, in our opinion.

You can pick from their range of starters {try Afghani Chicken and  Chicken Tikka}, pasta, burgers and Maggi {prepared in different ways}.

As the name suggests, it is a small place and a little hard to find, but being in a residential area they have their own advantages. Not much effort has gone into designing the interiors {not very appealing} but they’ve put in all their effort in the food, so we’re not complaining.

Drinky drink?

They’ll probably receive their liquor license sometime in the beginning of 2016 {January itself}. So, till then you can enjoy a session of Shisha with your friends, for which they have a terrace seating arrangement bordered in bamboo {segregating it from the families coming in for a warmer, non-disturbing environment}.

And yes, we’d suggest overdosing on the Oreo Shake, which is hands down the best we’ve had in the city so far.
