The Indian Cause is an Insta (& FB) store that offers cane sling bags, fabric diaries, plantable stationery and a bunch of other things. The idea behind all their products? To merge contemporary designs with Indian craftsmanship and boy, do they do it well.
This E-Store's Got Stunning Round Bags & The Prettiest Dabu Print Diaries
What Makes It Awesome
If you're someone who can't get enough of shibori, ikat and other Indian prints, The Indian Cause's (TIC) products will make you very happy. We've had our heart set on their dabu-printed hardbound diaries (starting at INR 250) that come in red, indigo and deep green colours with handmade paper. These diaries make our leather-bound journal seem so lifeless and we love the fact that they remind us of our favourite kurta. TIC also sells plantable stationery products (think bookmarks, pencils etc.) starting at INR 300 that have seeds like tomato, cilantro and marigold in them.
Our other favourites are their cane sling bags and the printed wall clocks. The round slings are so in right now that you'll probably see them on every fashion influencer's Instagram and why not? These look super cute, will carry all your essentials and TIC's handmade slings (INR 2,400) have a printed dabu/ikat lining too. Psst.. these, we're told, are their bestsellers; so you might want to order one right away (before they're gone again).
Coming to their wall clocks (starting at INR 1,000), these also carry a Indian print background in keeping with TIC's aesthetic. While you'll find some with full-covered backgrounds like the gorgeous black ikat one (ikat fans, hope you're reading this), you'll also see hoop clocks with a part-patterned, part-white background. The hoop clocks come in spade, chevron, maze patterns (to name a few) and are unlike the clocks we're used to seeing at every other store.
What Could Be Better
We're hoping that they'll add more variety in bags soon (maybe those with cool fabric straps?!).
