Personal TV sets, Romantic Music and Pizza at The Publick House

The information in this post might be outdated

With a rickety door and a pretty understated entrance, The Publick House in Punjabi Bagh could go unnoticed. Let’s just say  ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ perfectly sums up this spot. The space is small, and the first thing that catches your eye are the coloured wooden folded chairs adorning the brick walls. The style here is a little unclear, with suede chairs, leather booths, metal bar stools, and low seating at one end. But somehow, everything just comes together.

The Publick House, in contrast to its name, is a haven for couples looking to enjoy a nice, private meal. The booths are on the right, each with their own TV {we’re not making this up, we swear!}, making for great little cocoons when you want to have your own space undisturbed by other guests. If you’re flying solo, you can always pick up one of the books from the rack and enjoy a little you time.

The food is a mix of Italian and Continental. The pizzas and pastas fly off the shelves the fastest. The pizza is fully customisable, and they even offer a less cheese version. The Penne with Creamy Parmesan is one of their signatures. The dessert menu is limited, but in no way disappointing. The Coffee Crème Brulee in particular wowed us, with the addition of Nutella to the classic dessert. The drinks are constantly on happy hours, so if you’re in a mood to drink, this is your place.

The ambience is young and fun; the music mostly soft Bollywood. Whether you’re looking for a place to chill with friends or for an intimate date, you won’t go back disappointed from The Publick House.
