Every once in a while we come across a brand, or project that proves to be a breath of fresh air in a space choking with overdone pollution. One that does something truly different to stand out for all the right reasons. Embodying this spirit and then some is The Random Project. An initiative that is not so random when you learn of the ideals and practices they follow -- safe to say we were giddy from all the goodness at first sight!
Co-founders Amita and Tasneem started The Random Project to be a revolution that sold things that are eternally limited edition but also sustainable, ethical, made slow and with love. Their USP is that they 'twist classic forgotten art-forms and distill them into modern and innovative lifestyle products'. For this, they work with an amazing group of artisans across India to bring us the most quirky and contemporary designs. The Random Project also honours everything slow, mindful, handmade and artisanal. To make each 'random', only high-quality materials and zero waste/ethical processes are used.
What are the randoms? Before we tell you, know that these randoms are created using 5 specific art-forms -- Crochet, Beading, Woodwork, Embroidery and Macrame. So a 'random' could be the most stunning looking Woodwork Swan Lake Earrings, unique Crochet Barefoot Sandals or a Crochet Glasses Chain, a statement Beaded Choker, a boho Macrame Hairband or a pretty Embroidered Hoop. Whatever artform or accessory, jewellery and decor you pick, know that you have invested in something that will set you apart, help local artisans and the earth. Kudos, TRP!
