Tony’s Is Back With Its Toasts And Milkshakes

Shortcut

North Campus’s favourite little sandwich joint, with its bright yellow signboard, has returned with a refashioned menu and a tiny shop tucked away in the residential Vijay Nagar.

Must Eat

Their sandwiches continue to hit the sweet spot, quite literally. We loved the Hawaiian Nutella, served with grilled pineapple slices, chocolate syrup and a generous amount of white chocolate chips {we could hardly see the bread under all the toppings}.

Quite a few of their classic PBJ and marshmallow sandwiches from the old menu have been retained, but we are impressed with the host of newer variations, especially the savoury ones {French Onion or Keema Dilli-6, anyone?}

Must Drink

The beverage section just has milkshakes – choose from Classics like the Strawberry or Choco PB, or go for one of the Exotics which include interesting options like Birthday Cake and the Banana Foster.

What We Loved

The place is inviting with its bright walls and upbeat music, keeping in tune with the campus eateries. The sandwiches are also served in ready-to-go boxes, which make it very convenient to pack up and leave with your half-eaten food for that lecture you have to attend in five minutes.

What Didn’t Impress Us

The space is definitely an improvement from their earlier outlet, but it is still too small to seat more than half a dozen people comfortably inside.

What Is The Best Time To Visit?

A short rickshaw ride away from campus, Tony’s is good for those hunger pangs after class. Visit during the day to be seated more easily.

Anything Else?

They serve all their sandwiches with potato chips, regardless of whether you order sweet or savoury – and contrary to expectations, chocolate-covered salty chips make for an interesting add-on.
