Triple 8 is the newest entry into Delhi’s Pan-Asian restaurant scene and one that we feel, is here to stay. The crew in their kitchen comes with years of experience, they source all their ingredients from the country of origin and this restaurant is as authentic Asian as it gets. And, they’ll soon have a wine bar!

It's A Wine-Wine Situation

Ansal Plaza’s making a comeback with a line-up of some of the most impressive restaurants in the city, and a front-runner in this case is Triple 8.

Spread across two floors and done up in tones of wine and burgundy, this restaurant looks every bit  as stunning and carefully curated as a movie set. Have we found the perfect place for multiple photo-ops? Undoubtedly. We’re told that, within a few weeks’ time, they’re also planning to launch their wine bar, which makes the colours all the more relevant. They’ve got a live sushi bar and a private dinning area too.

Remember we said that this place is backed up by years of experience? Well, it’s launched by the crew behind Trends and Tamasha, and the Head Chef here – Chef Vivek Rana, has worked with brands like Tamarai London, Indian Accent New York and the Oberoi.

It's Raining Ramen, Sushi & More

We began our meal here with an amuse bouche, followed by another mini starter of fresh tuna, avocado and veggies in a crispy cup. It clearly did work up our appetite for the next starter, which was Goat Brain Tempura with Kimchi. While this might sound unappetising, the kimchi adds a crunch and goes perfectly well with the tender goat brain. The sushi, served by Japanese Chef Hiroshi Isomura {who has over 40 years of culinary experience} is another star. We tried the tuna, salmon and the California Roll, all of which were fresh, had the perfect balance of flavours and we think it’s safe to say it was one of the best sushi platters we’ve had in a very long time.

While the dumplings we tried {asparagus, chicken and prawn} weren’t extraordinary, we’re definitely coming back to Triple 8 for the Pork Belly Yakitori Spiced Miso Glaze. We’d happily eat multiple skewers of these on any given day. Another thing that Triple 8 gets so right – desserts. They’ve only got four desserts on their menu, but what they do have is all that’s required to reinstate our love for oriental flavours. We tried the Matcha Green Tea Tart, and the homemade Coconut Palm Sugar Ice cream – both of which put us in a sweet, sweet spot.

So, We're Saying...

A meal here might be a little heavy on the pocket, but it’s definitely worth it. Plus, if you have a soft spot for Asian cuisine, this is just the place you need to check out.
